Always thought about keeping a few hens?  Didn't know where to start?....   Look no further… we supply a full range of starter kits to suit small city courtyards, town gardens, orchards, fields and even sides of mountains have been known!!

All our starter kits include the housing, and/or run, 3 litre drinker, 3kg hanging feeder with rain cover, a sack (approx 20kg) of our own home milled complete poultry feed, (free from animal derivatives and yolk enhancers)  a bag of starter shavings and advice leaflets with a 7 day a week advice line number.

Many of our starter kit customers are battery hen rescuers, which we fully endorse.  I can put you in contact with a co-ordinator in this area, or you could try the Battery hen Welfare Trust directly.    

We can source pure breeds of laying hens or hybrids from our local free range hen supplier at Blacksmiths Cottage Poultry, Market Rasen.   You can either go direct to him and choose your own hens, or we can provide you with information and photographs of they type of hens available and prices.  Please contact us if you require further details.

 We specialise in actually helping you set up on the day, our delivery drivers (dad and uncle) build the unit, then show you how to add the bedding, fill the feeder and drinker, then gently place the hens in their new home (they usually rush straight to the feeder – ignoring their new surroundings and new owners!!).

They are happy to answer any questions you may have on the day – even though most relevant information will be in the starter leaflets.

There is a friendly advice line (available 7 days a week) so you can call anytime, no matter how small your problem is.
